Member attended a Seminar on Domestic Violence organised at Bhimtal, Distt. Nanital. This programme was sponsored by NCW. This programme was inaugurated by His Excellency Governor of Uttarakhand Dr. Aziz Qurashi. During his address, Dr. Qurashi stressed on the need to create awareness among women so that they are in a position to protect them from various violence. He was of the view that in order to stop the domestic violence, there is a need to change the mentality of people. Dr. Qurashi appreciated the efforts of NCW for organising this programme. 

During her address, Member stressed on curbing the violence against women whatsoever the nature of crime is. She told that awareness campaigning is required at the grass root level (village level) so that women are made aware about their rights and how to safeguard themselves against the domestic violence. Member advocated a strict law to stop the domestic violence. She expressed her concern on the trafficking of young girls of Uttranchal to different parts of Haryana. Declining CSR in Haryana is a major concern she said.
