On 21.04.2013 Ms Hemlata Kheria, Member NCW accompanied by Ms. Manasi Pradhan, OYSS Women founder visited Biridadi village panchayayat and Goradajhari village, Nachuni Panchayat where the main livelihood of the villagers is to make various things out of cane and bamboo. Although, these articles are artistic in nature and are also very useful for day to day living, yet their earnings were hardly suffice to make their both ends meet because they were forced to pay to the middle men booty for collecting cane and bamboo. They requested that the Government should come to their rescue. They should be extended financial or other assistance so that their skills remain alive and are upgraded.
