Women Power Connect in collaboration with National Commission for Women organized a National Consultation on “Strategizing Advocacy for Effective Implementation of Women Friendly Laws”

The National Consultation on “Strategizing Advocacy for Effective Implementation of Women Friendly Laws”, organized by WomenPowerConnect in collaboration with National Commission for Women was held on 12th July, 2012 at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. The consultation focused on three pieces of legislation that address women’s rights violations. The first session focused on the implementation of the PWDV Act, second session was about the PC & PNDT Act and third session mainly concentrated on the implementation of PCM Act. Based on these discussions, various recommendations were put forward to help implement these laws effectively and improve the condition of women in our country. Consultation Meeting brought together more than 130 representatives from government agencies, legal bodies, academics and non-government organizations from all parts of the counrty to discuss concerns regarding the implementation and develop strategies for advocacy for effective implementation of these women friendly legislations.
