Member, Ms. Shamina Shafiq, was invited as a special guest in Intelligence Award Ceremony & Career Counselling Meet organised by Royal Educational and Care Institute at Gulaothi, District Bulandshahar on 1st July, 2012

Member was invited as a special guest in Intelligence Award Ceremony & Career Counselling Meet organised by Royal Educational and Care Institute at Gulaothi, Distt Bulandshahar. It was a gathering of intellectuals, educationists, eminent personalities of the area, media persons and a huge crowd of talented girls and boys.

The Member attended the ceremony and distributed prizes to the meritorious boys and girls of Gulaothi District. The Member in her speech expressed happiness that she was delighted to see a reservoir of merits in an area which is not well developed. She applauded the academic interest of the students, especially the girls and said that she was pleased to note the enthusiasm of the younger generation and found that guardians of the girls here are broad minded and liberal in imparting education to their wards irrespective of their poverty and hoped that if this trend continues the area will no longer remain backward because education of the girls brings prosperity not only to the family but ushers development to the area in general.

She appreciated the counselling initiative taken by the Royal Educational and Care Institute and said this will surely guide the students to chose a right career. Because one decision makes or mar one’s career and a right decision brings name to individual, family and the country. This has been proved by so many meritorious girls like Kalpana Chawla. She encouraged the girls to be bold and courageous so that they live while raising their heads and wished them all the best in their endeavour.

On behalf of NCW, the Member appraised the gathering that the Govt. is doing a lot but we can only act when we know and if somebody is in distress, please contact us and assured necessary help will be extended to the needy.

During the course of her interaction with Ms Indra Sharma, Social Welfare Officer in the Govt. guest house at Gulahaoti, Member gathered information with regard to shelter homes, orphanages, ladies hospitals, public health dispensaries, protection being provided to women, problems faced by the department in execution of their functioning, etc.
