His Excellency Shri H.R.Bhardwaj, Hon’ble Governor of Karnataka met Dr. Charu Wali Khanna, Member, NCW and Ms. Kareena Thengamam, PRO, NCW during their visit to Bangalore on 16.10.2011, with regard to “Protection of women against Sexual Harassment at Work Place”. His Excellency showing great sensitivity to the cause said that women and children are most exploited in India. He complimented NCW in its role of protecting women, intervening when there is deprivation of women’s rights and making recommendations for effective implementation of safeguards for women under the Constitution and other laws. He said that Sexual Harassment at Work Place is rising specially in Academic Institutions. He is the Chancellor of about 27 universities and has taken stern action immediately against allegations of sexual harassment. 

He released a book on the sexual harassment at work place in Kannada & English, a self-help booklet published jointly by NCW and Canara Bank
