Mrs. Sharma has said that as Chairperson of NCW, her focus will be to concentrate on women’s empowerment. She believes that empowerment will also bring down atrocities against women as they will have the strength and knowledge to stand up for their rights. Another major focus will be towards the girl child and the next generation of women. She feels that in order to build a healthy society, it is imperative to safeguard the interest of young girls, provide them with a safe and healthy environment and bring about attitudinal changes in discriminatory attitudes.
