National Commission for Women (NCW) has taken suo moto cognizance and constituted an Inquiry Committee under Sections 8 (1), read with Sections 10 (1) and 10 (4) of the National Commission for Women Act, 1990 to inquire into the alleged incident of two minor girls who were gang raped and hanged from a tree in a village in Badaun district of Uttar Pradesh.
