National Commission for Women (NCW) has taken suo moto cognizance and constituted an Inquiry Committee under Sections 8 (1), read with Sections 10 (1) and 10 (4) of the National Commission for Women Act, 1990 to inquire into the situation of women and children in the riot affected areas in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh.
