National Commission for Women has come across a media report as captioned Widow sells her hair for 150 to feed 3 starving kids, tries to kill self on the 10th January 2020 on The Times of India, wherein it is reported that a 31-year-old woman who had tried to commit suicide seven month ago, sold her hair to feed her three starving children. It is also reported that she is left with debt following the death of her husband.
