The Dialogue was inaugurated by Mrs. Meira Kumar, Hon’ble Speaker Lok Sabha in kind presence of Smt. Mamta Sharma, Hon’ble Chairperson, National Commission for Women. The dialogue was attended by Chairperson/ Members/ Member Secretaries of all the state Women Commissions. 

This dialogue was designed in context with the present scenario of raging cumulative voices of young girls and boys, men and women against all sorts of prevalent violence against women in the society which has caused deep concern within the hearts of millions. The increasing number of violent incidents indicates especially peculiar features significant to our society. They indicate the manner in which young men are growing up and what kind of value systems they acquire to have imbibed within the family structure. 

The National Commission for Women understands that it has a larger role to play in addressing these problems. Keeping this in view, the SAMVAAD@NCW - a Two Day Inter -State Women Commission dialogue was organised at The Constitutional Club, Vithal Bhai Patel House, Rafi Marg, New Delhi to provide a platform to discuss women related issues and come up with solutions to address them in a holistic manner with combined efforts.
