On the occasion, she commented that Bihar having a low status in Human Development Index, condition of women in terms of health and well being indicators, needs to take special care of women and children. She discussed various dimensions of violence like female foeticide, dowry, domestic violence, sexual harassment, sexual assault and other violence. She also stated that active participation of women in utilizing legal system and laws can be a way out from violent relationships. She emphasized that education and awareness was the need of the day.
