Mrs Mireille Martin, Hon’ble Minister of Gender Equality Child Development and Family welfare, Republic of Mauritius visited the Commission with H.E Dr A. K. Jagessur GOSK High Commissioner and Mrs. N. Bauhadoor Pillay Ponniswamy Second Secretary on 4.9.2012.
Honorable Chairperson welcomed the delegation. Joint Secretary NCW explained in brief the different activities of the commission. Honorable Chairperson Smt Mamta Sharma, Dr Charu WaliKhanna, Mrs. Shamina Shafiq and Ms Hemalatha Kheria Members NCW interacted with the delegation.
The Mauritius Minister said that National Women Council bill is likely to be passed by their Parliament shortly. She expressed her keenness to share their experience of NCW on various women related issues which are common in nature like domestic violence.
