Member Shamina Shafiq attended an Annual Certificate distribution programme organised by Jamiatul Tayyibat College, Saharanpur on 6th October, 2012. Moulana Nazim Yaqoob Bulandshahri was also present on the occasion.

Certificates of Arabic and Farsi were distributed by Member Shamina Shafiq.

While speaking on the occasion, Member Shamina Shafiq stressed that the girls should also opt for the latest and technical education in addition to getting the knowledge about their religion.

She said that the women should come forward to curb the menace in the name of dowry spread in the society. Instead of saving huge amount of money for marriages of their daughters, parents especially mothers should focus on spending that money on giving good quality education to the daughters. The daughters should also realise that attaining degrees does not suffice alone, one should focus on becoming a role model for others by becoming Doctors, Engineers, holding Administrative offices etc.

Others who were present during the programme include Mufti Mohd Arshad Farooqi, Mufti Ala-ul-Rehaman Nadvi, Qari Shah Jahan, Moulvi Farid Muzahari, Commarad Afzaal, Qari Syed-ul-Zafar, Mufti Mohd Hashim.
