Member, Dr. Charu WaliKhanna had audience with the Hon'ble Governor of Karnataka, Dr. Hansraj Bhardwaj on 20.12.13 and discussed women related issues. Hon'ble Governor said that there is a plethora of laws available for protection of women but what is needed is strict enforcement of laws. He also stressed on the need for legislation of specific laws for the protection of women and narrated an example from his tenure as Union Minister for Law and Justice when the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005 was enacted to ensure protection of women. Member presented NCW publications to Hon'ble Governor who displayed great sensitivity towards gender justice.
